Andy Murray has expressed his irritation with being seeded 12 for this year's Wimbledon, one place lower than his world ranking of 11.

The Scot feels he may have penalised for his absence from last year's competition through injury.

He said: "I feel like I am one of the top grass-court players in the world, but because I missed Wimbledon I am going to lose out because of it, which I think is a little bit tough.

"I personally think it should just be done on the rankings, which is much easier."

Meanwhile, world number 25 Marcos Baghdatis and number 19 Tomas Berdych have been seeded above Murray after reaching the latter stages of the grandslam in recent years.

Bagdhatis of Cyprus has reached the semi-finals in 2006 and the last eight 12 months ago, while Czech Berdych also made the quarter-finals last year in a successful grass court season.
