Jamie Baker and Alex Bogdanovic head a list of six British players handed wildcards into this year's men's competition while Elena Baltacha, Katie O'Brien, Melanie South and Naomi Cavaday have been invited to compete in the women's singles.
Goran Ivanisevic showed that it is possible for a wildcard entry to the competition to lift the trophy and this will no doubt be in the minds of Jeremy Chardy of France, Frank Dancevic of Canada and the Belgian Xavier Malisse.
An extra three wildcards are yet to be announced.
World number 11 Andy Murray is currently Britain's best hope, the Scot having beaten Sebastian Grosjean to progress to the third round of the Stella Artois Championship after the Frenchman retired injured.
